Course
Summary: Another way to think about and supporting
children with seriously challenging behaviours.
This is an introductory
workshop focusing on children with disruptive behaviour disorders. The workshop
will explore aspects of behaviour from a learning/ skill deficit perspective
drawing upon collaborative problem solving and attachment models. The workshop
moves beyond the basic behaviour management strategies of positive reinforcement
and consequence. This workshop will add to workers options for supporting high
risk and disruptive children with an emphasis on the family work context.

domestic violence and parental mental health comparison in child presentation of
disruptive behaviours.

Course Summary: This 1 day workshop will build on the Managing Challenges
Collaboratively (worker 1 day introductory) workshop. It will examine
collaborative problem solving and attachment models with particularly challenging children
and build on the concepts and intervention skills identified in the introductory
workshop. Participants should complete the introductory workshop before
attending this advanced programme.
